Step 1: Cleansing
Wet your face and neck with warm water to open up the pores. Don’t use a bar soap for cleansing as it can be too harsh for your skin. Use a soap-free cleanser that is specifically formulated for your skin type. If you have a dry skin, use creamy cleansers to keep the skin soft. If you have oily skin, avoid products that contain emollients. Resist the temptation to wash your face frequently even if it feels greasy as it can activate sebum production.
Step 2: Moisturise
Every time you wash your face, natural moisture is removed and skin becomes dehydrated. To maintain the moisture balance, it is essential that you apply suitable moisturiser. Hydrating the skin reduces the appearance of fine lines and controls oil production. To lock in extra moisture, apply moisturiser when the skin is still damp.
Step 3: Repair
After cleansing and moisturising, it is time to use anti-ageing treatment. Eyes are the first place where signs of ageing appear, so start by treating the under-eye area. Gently pat a pea-size amount of cream starting from the inner corners of eyes and moving outwards to your temples. Now gently massage the treatment over other areas of your face. Don’t forget to apply sunscreen before stepping out in the sun.
Step 1: Wash and Exfoliate
Follow the same cleansing routine as you did in the morning. Gently remove make-up, pollution and dirt from your skin. Once in a week, use exfoliating cleanser for deep cleaning of the pores. Exfoliation is essential for removing dead skin cells and improving skin texture.
Step 2: Apply serum
To repair your skin, pump on some serum as they have higher concentration of active ingredients and seep deeper in the skin than moisturiser. Feel free to choose a suitable serum to target your problem areas (fine lines, puffy eyes, dark spots or wrinkles). Pump a pea-sized amount of serum and apply a thin layer over your problem areas. Gently massage using circular motion.
Step 3: Moisturise
Use a specially formulated night moisturiser to complete your skincare routine. Experts recommend using products enriched with vitamins and antioxidants as they help repair damage. Take a dime-size amount and gently massage over your face and neck. Don’t over-moisturise as that can clog pores, leading to breakouts.
