If you want to start the day off right, you need to begin with the right skincare routine. To keep your skin rejuvenated and glowing all day long, treat your skin well by using right kind of products. Choose products according to your skin type and stick to them. Here is what you should do in the morning:
- Moisturizer and sunscreen
Begin with cleansing to remove dirt, oil and bacteria from your skin. Cleaning also stimulates blood circulation in the skin, giving you a healthy glow. Use a gentle yet effective cleanser, such as Murad Essential-C Cleanser. Work the cleanser into lather and wash your face and neck in a circular motion for a couple of minutes. Rinse thoroughly with water and pat dry. Don’t scrub your face too vigorously as it may cause inflammation or redness.
Exfoliating your face twice a week is essential for deep cleansing. It removes blackheads, whiteheads and dead skin cells to prevent breakouts. Use an anti-oxidant rich exfoliate, such as Murad Pomegranate Exfoliating Mask. Apply the mask evenly on your face and neck and let it dry for 10 to 15 minutes. If you don’t want to use a mask, you can use a good scrub. Rub it all over your face, focusing on T zone. After the mask is dry or you are done scrubbing, rinse with cold water and pat dry.
Some women think that toner is only to be used during the night. But, it’s not true. Toning is a very important step in morning skincare as it helps balance the pH of your skin and prepares it for further treatment or just moisturizing. Use an alcohol-free toner, such as Murad Essential-C Toner and Murad Hydrating Toner. Dab toner onto a cotton ball and apply to your face and neck.
Follow toner with a moisturizer. Don’t dry you skin after using toner and before using a moisturizer. Irrespective of your skin type, you need a product to hydrate your skin and lock in the natural moisture. Use light-weight, oil-free product such as Murad Energizing Pomegranate Moisturizer SPF 15. Apply the moisturizer all over your face and neck using circular motion. If your moisturizer doesn’t come with SPF, then use sunscreen over moisturizer to protect your skin from sun damage.
